RTO Compliance Coaching
Fundamentals of Compliance Audits & Regulatory Obligations
This topic introduces the essential role of compliance audits in ensuring RTOs meet regulatory obligations and maintain high-quality operations. It outlines the key processes, expectations and proactive strategies for preparing for and responding to audits.

Overview
This unit demystifies the audit. You will examine the distinction between compliance and quality, ASQA's risk-based audit framework and how RTOs are selected, what auditors actually look for in terms of evidence, and the common areas of non-conformance. You will then work through practical audit preparation, including self-assessment, evidence mapping and document management, and how to respond to findings through corrective action and root cause analysis.
By the end of this unit, you will understand the audit process from notification to outcome, and you will be able to build an audit-ready culture that treats findings as opportunities for continuous improvement rather than threats.
