Evaluation and Feedback Policy Pack

Systematic evaluation of your training and assessment products and services is not a quality indicator obligation you satisfy once a year and move on from. It is the ongoing process through which your RTO listens to the people it serves, measures whether its programs are actually working, and uses that information to make decisions that improve outcomes. RTOs that evaluate well do not just collect data. They act on it, document what they changed, and can demonstrate to ASQA that their programs are genuinely responsive to student, employer, and industry feedback.
 
The Standards for RTOs 2025 connect evaluation directly to your industry engagement obligations, your complaints and appeals process, and your continuous improvement framework. Feedback from students about their training experience, from employers about the readiness of your graduates, and from your own trainers and assessors about the resources and systems they work with all contribute to a complete picture of your RTO's performance. When that feedback is collected systematically, analysed honestly, and linked to documented improvement actions, it becomes one of the strongest forms of self-assurance evidence your RTO can produce.
 
The risk of treating evaluation as a checkbox exercise is that the data you collect tells ASQA very little about whether your RTO is genuinely performing. Surveys that are poorly designed, distributed inconsistently, or never analysed produce results that look like compliance but provide no operational value. This policy pack gives your RTO the documented framework to design, implement, and act on a systematic evaluation and feedback process. When implemented, it supports compliance with clauses 1.2, 2.7, and 4.4 of the Standards for RTOs 2025, as well as the associated Compliance Requirements. It includes the policies, procedures, forms, and templates your team needs to collect, analyse, and respond to feedback in a structured, auditable way.
