Facilities and Equipment Management Policy Pack
The facilities and equipment your RTO uses to deliver training and assessment are not background details. They are a direct compliance obligation and a visible indicator of the quality of the learning environment your students experience.
The Standards for RTOs 2025 require that every training and assessment environment your RTO uses, whether owned, leased, or accessed through a third-party arrangement, is fit for purpose, safe, accessible, and sufficient for the number of students being trained. That obligation applies to physical classrooms, workshops, and simulated workplace environments, as well as the equipment and resources used within them. It is not a one-off assessment at the point of registration. It is an ongoing management responsibility that must be documented, monitored, and reviewed.
What ASQA looks for is evidence that your RTO has actively assessed its facilities and equipment against the requirements of each training product on its scope, not just that the facilities exist. This means documented checklists, maintenance schedules, records of assessments conducted, and a clear process for identifying and addressing gaps. RTOs that rely on informal arrangements or undocumented assumptions about facility suitability are exposed when an auditor asks for evidence.
Facilities and equipment obligations also extend to third-party delivery arrangements. If your RTO delivers training through a host employer, a community facility, or another provider's premises, the same standard applies. Your RTO remains responsible for ensuring those environments meet the requirements, and that responsibility must be documented.
This policy pack gives your RTO the documented framework to manage facilities, equipment, and training environments consistently and in line with your obligations. When implemented, it supports compliance with clause 1.8 of the Standards for RTOs 2025, as well as the associated Compliance Requirements. It includes the policies, procedures, forms, and templates your team needs to assess, monitor, and maintain your training environments in a structured, auditable way.
All documents are fully editable and rebrand-ready. Add your RTO logo, colours, and details and your policy is ready to implement.
