These resources and tools have been developed and contextualised for the Electrical Supply Industry (ESI) and provides for education and training to perform a rescue from live low voltage (LV) electrical apparatus. (This does not include overhead lines and underground cables.)

 

The resources and tools have been contextualised to enable ESI workers to inspection and use live LV panel rescue equipment and meet work health and safety (WHS) mobility and mutual aid requirements.

 

Training in this unit will suit all workers who are required to work on or near live low voltage equipment. The application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit may require a licence/registration to practice in the workplace.

Other conditions may also apply under state and territory legislative and regulatory licensing requirements which must be confirmed.

  • Pre-requisite Requirements

    Students undertaking this course must hold the following unit of competency:

    • HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation; and
    • UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace; or
    • UETDREL006 Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker

    Note: Those holding an existing ESI or Electrotechnology qualification or equivalent meet the prerequisite unit requirements.
