AQF Credential Authenticity Checklist FORM
The CWTS AQF Credential Authenticity Checklist is a fully editable, rebrand-ready form aligned to the Standards for RTOs 2025. Designed for RTO administrators, trainers, assessors, and compliance officers responsible for verifying qualifications presented by students and staff, it provides a structured process for confirming that AQF credentials are genuine, current, and relevant before they are relied upon for credit transfer, RPL, or trainer and assessor competency purposes.
Accepting credentials at face value without a documented verification process is a compliance risk that surfaces in two distinct areas. For students, unverified credentials used to support credit transfer or RPL decisions may result in incorrect competency outcomes and certification errors that are difficult and costly to correct. For staff, unverified trainer and assessor qualifications create a direct exposure under clause 3.1 of the Standards for RTOs 2025, where your RTO must be able to demonstrate that every person delivering training and assessment holds the qualifications they are relied upon to hold.
This checklist provides a consistent, auditable process for credential verification across both contexts. It aligns to the Standards for RTOs 2025 and was developed in conjunction with the Trainer and Assessor Competency Policy Procedure and the Skills Recognition and Credit Policy Procedure. It includes the following:
- A structured verification checklist for AQF credentials presented by students and staff
- Prompts for confirming credential currency, authenticity, and relevance to the purpose of verification
- Fields for recording the verification method used and the outcome reached
- Signature and approval fields for audit trail purposes
This form is suitable for use by any RTO staff member responsible for assessing credentials presented in support of credit transfer, RPL applications, or trainer and assessor compliance.
