RPL and Credit (CT) Application FORM
The CWTS RPL and Credit Transfer Application is a fully editable, rebrand-ready form aligned to the Standards for RTOs 2025. Designed for RTO administrators, trainers, assessors, and compliance officers responsible for managing skills recognition and credit transfer processes, it provides a structured framework for students to formally apply for recognition of their current competencies and credit for previously completed formal learning, and for your RTO to assess and record those applications consistently.
Every student who enrols with your RTO has the right to apply for RPL and credit transfer before they commence training. That right must be actively communicated, and the process for exercising it must be accessible, clearly documented, and free from barriers that discourage legitimate applications. An RTO that makes RPL and credit transfer difficult to access, or that assesses applications inconsistently without a structured form and process, is not meeting the intent of clauses 1.4, 1.6, and 1.7 of the Standards for RTOs 2025. Beyond compliance, a well-managed RPL and credit transfer process respects the prior learning and experience your students bring and ensures they are not required to repeat learning they have already demonstrated.
This form provides a consistent, auditable process for receiving, assessing, and recording RPL and credit transfer applications across your scope of registration. It aligns to clauses 1.4, 1.6, and 1.7 of the Standards for RTOs 2025 and was developed in conjunction with the Skills Recognition and Credit Policy Procedure. It includes the following:
- Student identification and program enrolment details fields
- RPL application section with evidence submission prompts and guidance
- Credit transfer application section with prior qualification and unit details fields
- Assessor review and outcome recording fields for both RPL and credit transfer
- Student and assessor declaration and signature fields for audit trail purposes
