Staff Induction Checklist FORM

The CWTS Staff Induction Checklist is a fully editable, rebrand-ready form aligned to the Standards for RTOs 2025. Designed for RTO managers and human resources staff responsible for onboarding trainers, assessors, and administrative personnel, it provides a structured framework for ensuring every new staff member receives the information, documentation, and system access they need to operate effectively and compliantly within your RTO from their first day.
 
Induction is the first compliance obligation your RTO carries in relation to every new staff member, and it is one that is frequently managed informally. A trainer or assessor who begins delivering training without a documented understanding of your RTO's policies, quality management system, assessment requirements, complaints processes, and compliance obligations is a risk to your students and to your audit position. The Standards for RTOs 2025 require that every person contributing to your RTO's operations understands their role within your compliance framework, and induction is where that understanding is established and recorded. An undocumented induction process provides no evidence that this obligation has been met.
 
This checklist provides a consistent, auditable process for staff induction across all roles in your organisation. It aligns to clauses 3.1, 4.1, and 4.2 of the Standards for RTOs 2025 and was developed in conjunction with the Staff Recruitment and Management Policy Procedure, Trainer and Assessor Engagement Contract Template, Staff Handbook, and Staff File Checklist Form.
