Continuous Improvement REGISTER & Improvement Plan
The CWTS Continuous Improvement Register and Improvement Plan is a fully editable, rebrand-ready register aligned to the Standards for RTOs 2025. Designed for RTO managers, compliance officers, and quality leads responsible for managing your RTO's continuous improvement system, it provides a structured framework for recording improvement initiatives and actions as they are identified, tracking their progress through to completion, and proactively planning the annual quality reviews your RTO must conduct across all areas of the student journey to meet its self-assurance obligations under the Standards for RTOs 2025.
The continuous improvement register is the operational heart of your self-assurance system. Every quality input your RTO receives, from student and employer feedback, validation findings, internal audit outcomes, complaints and appeals data, and quality indicator results, must have a mechanism for being captured, assessed, and acted upon in a documented and traceable way. A register that records only the improvements your RTO has already completed does not demonstrate a functioning continuous improvement system. It demonstrates a filing exercise. ASQA wants to see a register that reflects genuine operational change, that shows improvement actions were initiated in response to identified issues, and that leadership was involved in reviewing and approving the actions taken.
This register provides a comprehensive, auditable framework for continuous improvement tracking and annual quality review planning across all areas of your RTO's operation. It aligns to clauses 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, and 4.4 of the Standards for RTOs 2025 and was developed in conjunction with the Continuous Improvement Policy Procedure. It includes the following:
- Improvement initiative identification, source, and date recording fields
- Issue classification section covering training, assessment, administration, governance, and student support areas
- Priority rating and recommended action documentation fields
- Responsible person, target completion date, and status tracking section
- Annual quality review planning fields mapped to all areas of the student journey
- Completion confirmation, outcome recording, and leadership sign-off fields for audit trail purposes
