Validation of Assessment and Risk REGISTER

The CWTS Validation of Assessment and Risk Register is a fully editable, rebrand-ready register aligned to the Standards for RTOs 2025. Designed for RTO compliance officers, quality managers, and validation coordinators responsible for planning and managing assessment validation across their scope of registration, it provides a structured framework for establishing a five-year validation schedule, conducting a systematic risk assessment across all units of competency on your scope, and prioritising validation activity based on the risk profile of each unit to ensure that your validation effort is directed where it is most needed.
 
Validation planning is where your RTO's compliance intention becomes a documented, manageable system. The Standards for RTOs 2025 require that all units of competency on your scope are subject to validation across the five-year cycle, with higher-risk units prioritised for more frequent or more intensive review. Without a structured register that captures the risk rating of every unit, the schedule for validating each one, and the outcomes of validation activities completed to date, your RTO cannot demonstrate that its validation system is genuinely systematic or that it is meeting the coverage requirements the Standards demand. A validation register that is current, actively maintained, and linked to your continuous improvement process is also one of the strongest self-assurance evidence documents your RTO can produce.
 
This register provides a consistent, auditable framework for validation planning and risk management across your entire scope of registration. It aligns to clauses 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5 of the Standards for RTOs 2025 and was developed in conjunction with the Validation of Assessment Policy Procedure. It includes the following:

Overall risk priority classification section producing high, medium, and low priority ratings
