Facilities and Equipment REGISTER
The CWTS Facilities and Equipment Register is a fully editable, rebrand-ready register aligned to the Standards for RTOs 2025. Designed for RTO managers, training coordinators, and compliance officers responsible for managing the physical resources used in training and assessment delivery, it provides a structured framework for recording, tracking, and maintaining the facilities, equipment, and resources your RTO relies on to deliver training to the standard required by each training product on your scope.
Facilities and equipment compliance is an ongoing management obligation, not a one-off assessment at the point of registration. The condition, currency, and suitability of your training environments and equipment change over time through wear, technological advancement, and updates to the requirements of the training products your RTO delivers. Without a documented register that captures what facilities and equipment your RTO uses, where they are located, what condition they are in, and when they are due for maintenance or replacement, your RTO cannot demonstrate to ASQA that it is actively managing this obligation or that the environments and resources available to your students consistently meet the requirements of the units being delivered.
This register provides a consistent, auditable framework for facilities and equipment management across all training environments and delivery locations your RTO uses. It aligns to clause 1.8 of the Standards for RTOs 2025 and was developed in conjunction with the Facilities and Equipment Policy Procedure and the Workplace Suitability Checklist Form. It includes the following:
- Facility and equipment identification, description, and location recording fields
- Training product and unit of competency relevance confirmation section
- Condition assessment and suitability rating fields
- Maintenance schedule, last serviced, and next service due date recording section
- Replacement or upgrade requirement identification fields
- Responsible staff member and register review date fields for audit trail purposes
